As one of the picturesque lakes in the renowned Chain of Lakes, Lake Harriet features 67 acres of land and 344 acres of water. It is noted for biking and walking trails, a variety of water activities and summer concerts at the stunning band shell.
Just a fantastic place to walk or as we recently did for the autumn colors, drive. Highly recommended!
Summertime is the best - rollerblading, walking, jogging, kayaking, canoeing, sunbathing, volleyball.
I live closer to Lake Harriet than the other lakes, so I guess I go there most frequently by default. But I love the look of it--the bandshell, the path which goes in and out of trees, the beaches, the sailboats. You can rent paddleboards, paddleboats and kayaks, and there's a great food concession and Nice Ride bikes nearby.
Good walking and biking paths around the lake. The Bandshell has concerts most evening all summer. There are picnic places, children's playgrounds, and public beaches. Food concession stands are also available. Great public park/lake that is well cared for and safe for families.
