I went to A&B in parsippany back around june 2011 for a 2001 impala 3.1L for a converter because my car had a check engine light for the converter, ran a diagnostic and it ONLY showed a code for the converter, went to them to buy an cat installed it and a day later same problem. ran diagnostic again back to the cat problem, went to them explained the situation. at first i thought they would accept their cat is bad and exchange for a new one. but they didn't, they explained to me that its my car not running correctly. the explained gm had problem the the intake manifold gasket not being made properly causing a leak. also problem with aftermarket alarms. since it utilizes relays and the vehicle movement triggers the relays to engage and disengage the ignition circuit. the disruption which occur in milliseconds causes more fuel to be commanded, this extra dumping of fuel can cause misfire codes and damages the converter, make the check engine light to come on saying the cat is bad. so i stormed out out of A&B upset and after i cooled off i went to test their information and the part about the manifold gaskets being ****** from gm was right, i saw black exhaust fumes in the flanges from where it leak. thanks to A&B the problem was fixed and the same converter never threw a code again.

I had a catalyic converter issue with my vehicle. I installed both oxygen sensors and a complete tune up to my vehicle. Then still had recieved a p420code so eventhough I didnt want to I still had a cat efficency code. I used one of there cats and after performing a drive cycle,The light came back. I was so over it because i needed to pass inspection so i brought it to another repair shop which in turn diagnosed the cat.I didnt wanna believe it but i went along with the repair. The Tech gave me the cat and say return it its only been 33 days and the cat was definately the issue. A&B policy is their parts are indestructable and they all get sprayed in the same batch. Are you kidding No return policy and asked for emission scan reports and before and after code documents, really in the auto business? Ive never seen a business act or handle their customers like that . I am really annoyed and not one of them guys to complain . $400 cat has now become $5 in scrap metal. Its a real shame this is how people do business . I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
