It was first created on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles by its founder, Julianne Tozer who wanted to share her love for fine teas and delicious delicacies on fine bone china in the true English tradition of her heritage.

Thank heavens that filthy place was closed. Did you ever go into the kitchen!? The bathroom was right in it. YUK! The plates were washed in cold water and grease and grime were covering the plates even after they were taken out of the water. The owner, Julianne Tozer, poured all the left over cream, milk, jam etc., from each customer back into jars and kept it in the refrigerator for the next unexpecting customer. Its a wonder we didn't all become violently ill.And the price!!!! You had to work for a week to have a cup of tea which was very nasty. The water was boiled in a rusted out can....

I went to Paddington's Tea Room in 2006, and it was a charming experience. It's more of the old English charm feel with the traditional English teacups. We hosted a bridal shower for about 15 girls here, and overall, the service was great!
