Luxurious accommodations perched on 5 acres on a bluff above the Strait of Juan de Fuca have either impressionist or Asian accents, fireplaces, and water and mountain views. Owner-innkeeper Jeri loves to amaze her guests with inventive, tasty, and artfully presented five-course breakfasts. Four rooms have a two-person jetted tub, and three also have a kitchenette. The Rendezvous Room and Monet...

One of the city's most beloved delis, this L.A. landmark has been going strong since 1947. In the early days, the MacArthur Park neighborhood was home to middle-class Jews, many transplanted from places like Brooklyn, where the nondescript Langer's would fit right in. Threatened by urban blight in the 1990s, the opening of the nearby Red Line station revitalized this old favorite, further...

"The best deli west of the Hudson River" according to fans, this Downtown "time warp" has been a source for "superb" hand-sliced pastrami on "fabulous Jewish rye" since 1947; it's "no frills" with "fast" service and "limited" hours, but the food "lives up to the hype", especially the No. 19 sandwich; P.S. call ahead for curbside pickup.

Matzo ball soup, half-sour pickles, fluorescent lighting, Formica tabletops…if it wasn't for the view of MacArthur Park, you might swear you were in a deli on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Providing a taste of home for many a transplanted New Yorker, Langer's specializes in perfectly peppery, tangy pastrami that outshines even that of its L.A. rival, the equally colorful Canter's Deli....

This Mac Arthur Park institution has been serving some of the city's best pastrami sandwiches for more than 60 years.

I usually go in for the #19, but went in the other day, and deviated to the #44, pastrami, Kraut, and "nippy" cheese (American). Added mustard, and.......excellent. Again, the pastrami here has...
