Zilker is a fun place to have a picnic, throw a Frisbee or just soak up the sun. Just make sure a major festival, such as Austin City Limits, isn't planned on the day that you are visiting... unless of course you plan on attending!

I have lived very close to the Zilker park for a year. It's a beautiful place to visit. I used to visit this park almost everyday. I recommend to rent a kayak to go along the river.
