Help us make it rightWriting this on Tuesday, January 27. Went over to Z Square to book a party of 8 for this Saturday night. Had been calling the restaurant for three days. They look closed. And there is a chalk board sign inside the dining area door which says to join them at their Kenmore and Financial District restaurants. It was a great spot. It's a shame. K/Boston
What a wonderfully eclectic menu for those ethnic palates. The service is pleasant, attentive and well-paced with a splendid warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the prices are so reasonable. A refreshing change of pace for Harvard Square without the "upstairs" attitudes.
I really wanted to like this place. The service was fine. Unfortunately my salad was really sub-par and not worth even half of the $11. I paid for it. The lettuce was old and rusty and the skirt steak (actually flank steak) was cold, unseasoned and chewy, right out of the fridge. However, my husband enjoyed his skirt steak dinner and the wine was delish. Way too expensive for what it is...feels...
The BU location was empty on a Friday night. Pity, because the food was quite good and the waiter was super nice even when we (six of us) walked in fifteen minutes before closing. We didn't feel rushed at all. I haven't been in the Harvard Sq. one, but it looks busier on Fridays than the other one.
Half price tap beer at the BU location is a great draw.
