Beware Kudzu

This company tried to sell me a new unit when my 8yr old unit was icing up. They gave me a song and dance about the difficulty in locating replacement parts, how the replacement parts were not warranteed, etc....

This all began when a service technician came out and inspected the AC. I am in Florida but own the home in AZ and it is rented. This can make for a bad situation for trusting a contractor you have never heard of. The technician told me the AC was shot, which I knew, (27 years old), and needed a new one. So, I told them to go ahead. He said they would be installing a Goodman 13 SEER AC. I thought fine, it is rated number 3.
