I also worked for Yamato in Burnaby BC as well as spending time in the Bellingham plant. The Burnaby location was called Amir's Japanese Engines then, after the founder Amir Dhanani (not sure how to spell it).

I worked for Yamato Engines in Burnaby BC where they tell you to never mention their real name but always tell the customer they are a Division of Jasper Engines. I found out Yamato Engines has a horrible reputation with mechanics in the Vancouver, BC area. I saw Engines being returned from disatisfied customers on a very regular basis. Yamato has horrible working environment. Management disregards employee rights and creates atmosphere of fear. I know or heard of several employees who were fired or laid off for trivial reasons or no reason.
