Good take out but not so good to sit down

We visit Ya Hala once or twice a month, and lately have always ordered take out. We enjoy most of the dishes, including the lentil soup, kebabs and especially the gyros, but in the last year or so have stopped eating in and always taking out.
The other reviews about the quality of the space are right on. The seating...

Fabulous food, but service...meh

I recently met a friend here for lunch and while I thought the food was absolutely wonderful, the ambiance of the location severely lacked.
I could tell immediately that it was a family run estabishment which is cool. I totally appreciate that, and the little baby that was meandering around the restaurant was really cute...until she started trying to go...

the food doesnt taste clean, the place is really hot inside, and the service is extremely rude. There are several WAY better middle eastern places right down the street within walking distance. i would strongly recommend staying away from this place.

This unassuming little place at the corner of Evans and Colorado looks like nothing from the outside, but inside there is some amazingly good middle eastern food. What a surprise

Hala at me, my friend. Ya Hala is a terrific, little, unassuming, Mediterranean grill with incredible (legit) cuisine. So the ambiance is certainly not anything to write home about (at least not in a particularly positive sense) but the food absolutely is. Everything comes with hummus, everything should come with baklava, and everything in between is a feast for the senses. If you've had middle...
