Staying local for four days and hit the Whistle Stop for dinner. Go hungry. Large servings.
All local seafood, great staff and clean and well lighted.
No doubt I will return.
Great little friendly, hometown diner.
I like hitting the local spots to see what's in each community and this Spot is a winner.

When driving through Wiggins, it is worth the detour to downtown to try the Whistle Stop Cafe. This is country cooking at its best. The fried green tomatoes were excellent and the catfish superb. This is a restaurant that the locals go to. Great southern food. Excellent service at a great value. I enjoyed the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. The fried green tomatoes were excellent. The catfish was not as favorable as hoped. Wish we could have tried the cakes and pies that were advertised. Don't expect fancy but...
