After checking out a number of restaurants on Amsterdam Ave near our hotel, we went back to Savann because of the tantalizing scents! After an excellent $7 appetizer of mint zucchini pancakes and yoghurt sauce which my husband and I shared. I had the lamb kebab, served with rice, small salad, a a piece of grilled pepper and tomato ($19)....

Nice turkish restaurant on Amsterdam Ave. Had the lunch prix fixe, including a salad (arugula, carrots, tomatoes) and a chicken kebab. Small portions but for 10 USD, it's a decent price in NYC

We were going out for supper our first night in New York. Our B & B was about a block away on West 80th Street. It started to rain late in the afternoon and we were really tired. This area of Amsterdam is blessed with many really good little restaurants at very reasonable prices. Our landlady told us as much...

Ignore the statement on Yelp that this restaurant is closed. We saw an ad for the restaurant in our hotel room, which was just up the street a little. It was a French restaurant -- it is now Turkish.
