Westward Restaurant Review

Westward’s setting emphasizes its Lake Union location in multiple ways: the Wes Anderson-inspired boat-shaped bar; a dining room perched on a pier doing double-duty as a patio; Adirondack chairs circling a fire pit on the beach. The lake wind blows fresh breezes into the light-colored dining room, a place that's pleasant in summer and cozy in the winter when the wood stove in the open kitchen...

We first tried Westward for our 6 year anniversary last April, and enjoyed it so much, we came back for our Valentines dinner!

It's rare that I leave a review, let alone a bad one. However, this place was so bad that I felt compelled. Three courses, only one was edible. The crudo was completely bland and tasteless, the clams were fresh and tasty, the steelhead was served almost raw and smelled like it had overstayed its welcome in the kitchen by a day or two.

Creative food in a beautiful setting on Lake Union. Great selection of oysters. Love the wood oven baked gigante beans, smoked fish salad, lamb hash, and butterscotch pot dessert. A must for brunch.
