We paid for ""expedited service"", and it took them almost 3 months to do a title search. This company was very expensive, and they kept coming up with reasons for delaying our closing and extending the length of time for the process. I had completed a title search on my own (have experience) before consulting attorney for sales agreement and bank for loan. Had all information necessary - it took me TWO HOURS to complete title search! What we didn't know: YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN TITLE COMPANY - so SHOP AROUND, and DON'T USE LAWYERS ABSTRACT. They will overcharge you, and they will delay the...
