Fresh takes on Italian favorites and professional service are what elevate CURRENT beyond hotel restaurant status --- that and its front row views of Lake Michigan. Located on the Living Level of W Chicago - Lakeshore hotel, CURRENT has a contemporary vibe that certainly reflects its swank surroundings. And as for the menu, with chef Greg Elliott (Lockwood) at the kitchen’s helm, diners can...
“Beautiful decor” and a “great view of the lake” set the tone at this “trendy” Mediterranean small-plates concept off the lobby of Streeterville’s W Hotel; fans find the “pretty” fare is exactly what “you’d expect”, yet grouches grump that the “quality” and “attitude” are enough to make them “wave goodbye”; P.S. desserts are a “steal”, and a “long, interesting drink menu” adds happy-hour appeal.
Wave Restaurant Review: Wave, in the ultra-hip W Chicago-Lakeshore, has a splashy sunken dining room that attracts a cool crowd. The space is a study in drama, from the glass-covered gray and blue-green walls to the fabric that undulates over a central communal table. Very small portions and noisy dining area which are practically in the lobby, but the food was tasty.
Was on a date and loved the scenic views and ambiance.
This restaurant looked like an after thought of a few tables thrown together to the side of the bar in the hotel lobby.....lighting was way too bright and food presentation looked awful. For the prices charged it was not worth it at all. very disappointing
Quiet enough to have a business discussion but the food took about 45 minutes.
Waiter was rude service was lousy couple drunks cussing out loud .

This see-and-be-seen hotspot draws a mix of folks to its modern dining room, which serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with a seafood focus. The house specialty should be ordered upon arrival — spice and molasses-glazed shrimp with candied orange, mulled red wine syrup, and cardamom. Notable entrees include poached monkfish, pan-roasted walleye, and pan-roasted American sturgeon. The...
