"It's old world" all the way at this "gemutlich" Santa Monica standby where "hearty", "authentic Polish" "delicacies" are "reasonably priced" and washed down with glasses of vodka; it's set in a "charming old house" with a "fun" outdoor lounge, all boosted by "warm" hospitality; P.S. Polish cuisine occupies a distinctive place among Slavic food because foreign influences abound throughout Poland's long history. Ancient merchants traveling the famous amber trail from Byzantium through Poland brought exotic spices like cinnamon and cloves, while invaders from Asia brought steak Tatar, and Bona Sforza. In the early 16th century, the Italian wife of King Sigismund I introduced...

Warszawa Restaurant first opened in 1979 and has been serving Polish food in the Los Angeles area ever since. Owner/Chef Elina O'Lague continues to create traditional Polish fare such as pierogis, stroganoff, borsch and slow-roasted duck in a contemporary, health-conscious way. Converted from a house to restaurant in the 1970's, the space offers unique dining with an old world feel, combined...
