The Wagon Wheel in Alturas only has a half dozen rooms, but they are comfortable, roomy, and clean. We had two queen beds and there was plenty of room around them for tables, a recliner, a small desk and a small closet. The rooms sit back from the highway about 150 feet, and are quiet. Very Nice Motel

The motel is very nice. The rooms are practically new and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The price was a very good value. The Wagon Wheel restaurant at the front of the property serves a tasty, traditional American menu.

Have stopped both on the way to and back from Burning Man. Nothing fancy, but nice, quiet, and clean rooms at a reasonable price. Convenient restaurant at front of property that has good food at reasonable price.

I know it sounds like an old song but you truly can’t judge a book by its cover. This Motel is a perfect example of this. To drive by the motel it looks like the standard terrible old place to stay.
