Scores of local families and couples fill the restaurant's tiny single room to sample the open kitchen's unique, Greek-tinged creations. On most nights the place is full--reservations are essential--and quiet… Read More
Fans of 51 Lincoln can head to Newton for chef-owner Jeffrey Fournier's less formal New American, serving a midpriced menu of small and large plates to share; walk-ins vie for a seat at the bar, which dispenses cocktails, wine and beer, while others settle in to the warm dining room or gather around the chef's table with a front-row view of the open kitchen.
I ordered the ribeye steak and it was likely the best steak I have ever had. A few weeks prior I visited a famous steakhouse and they were not even close. Great food.
3 years later and this place is still on fire. Jeff Fournier is always changing it up, with new menu items, creative flavors and a great staff. Their charcuterie and cheese plates are perfect starters, and from then you'll have a hard time choosing where to go from there....great appetizers, salads, and on this visit Jeff had a Chicken Bolognese, giving a nod to his traditional bolognese recipe...

I see no need to return to this restaurant which is a shame as I am always...

Know Before You Go: The ever-changing menu neglects to inform diners of Greek items like branzini (Mediterranean sea bass) and kakavia (Greek fish soup).
Where to Sit: During winter, bring a scarf. The front door, only a few feet from most tables, causes some major drafts.
