Located a short distance from Michigan Avenue, Volare provides a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the Magnificent Mile. While the dining room, with its small space and low lighting, provides an intimate setting for a romantic evening, it also is a great place to meet up with friends and family for an excellent Italian meal after a day of shopping. If people-watching is more your...
"It's always crowded, so come early" to these "red-gravy" Italians in Streeterville and Oakbrook Terrace dishing out "overall excellent" heaps of "moderately priced" "homestyle cooking" with "accommodating", "family-friendly" service; despite "close-together" tables, "noise" and all, supporters "keep coming back"; P.S. outdoor seating is "perfect in summer."
There is a comfort level to this restaurant that is as appealing as the food. Particularly enjoyable are the classic dishes, such as broiled whitefish in paprika-accented lemon-caper sauce, homemade gnocchi cloaked with a rich vodka sauce and, one of our favorites, rigatoni in a spicy tomato sauce with garlic and pancetta. Two desserts that are particularly noteworthy are the panna cotta and...
Don’t let the building’s crappy façade fool you: some of Chicago’s best old-school Italian food is just on the other side. The fact that the place is packed every single night of the week won’t necessarily vouch for its authenticity. After all, at least half the crowd are tourists. But that big group of wiseguys in the back? They’re real. You can tell because they’re getting better service than...
Just a great time! Anna and I ate at the front bar as we missed the reservation window. Everything above average including service. Nice wine list and
reasonable wine by the glass. Strongly
recommend reservations. Owner is on
site and very aware of vibe. Try...
This is a very nice restaurant as near important avenues. really enjoyed the ricotta raviolis! The seafood risotto was also very good as well as the different types of breads and wine.
The Italian waitress, however, were not very kind.
I Do recommend it!
Had the spaghetti neri (black squid ink) with a rose’ sauce. Outstanding flavor, rich, creamy. Will be back. Better than Carmine’s. Can’t suggest it enough, if you saver fine Italian dining!
I was just there with a large group on 7/24/18. The service was great. Their menu is very extensive, with lots of seafood, veal, beef, as well as pasta. I thought some of the seafood was overcooked a bit, but not awful. A special of...
I cannot imagine a night out without going to Volare. Its an amazing gem. A true find for the best Italian food. The wait staff and valet are incredibly service oriented. I am delighted with the food selection and the wine list. I love Yuri...

This restaurant is always bustling, even on a bitterly cold Tuesday evening in January. Authentic Northern and Southern Italian cuisine includes create-your-own pasta and sauce combinations, chicken Vesuvio, several veal dishes, grilled salmon in a white wine sauce with capers and lemon, and filet mignon. Entree prices mostly range from $13-$30. Open for lunch Mon-Fri; dinner served nightly. - ...
