Would use them again

Had them install carpets, a door and trim. The price was great compared to your large stores, and the results could not have been better. I had an emergency come up before install, and they worked with me to change the install date without a problem. An all around great bunch to do business with.

Great Results - Beyond Great Price

To date, this company has done my kitchen, a bathroom, family room, hall, stairs, and are now quoting me for a front door and two rooms of carpeting. Each room was completely gutted and redone, from the baseboards to light fixtures. My kitchen was beyond gutted, and now looks beyond gorgeous.

Since finishing my first set of rooms, everyone that comes over suffers from ‘drop jaw’ due to how rich and luxurious everything looks. I’ve asked some to guess how much the work ran, and they’re always more than 100% too high, and that’s not an exaggeration.

These are some pictures I took of my finished family room, bathroom, and kitchen. I could not be happier.

Beware of Value Floors & Cabinets!

Unfortunately, we hired Value Floors based on only one reference and without getting any other estimates. Once we had signed the contract to install wood floors in 3 rooms and on the upstairs and carpet on the basement stairs, it was liked we opened the Pandora's box. We had bought a house and wanted the wood floors installed before our furniture arrived so the start date was very important to us. A couple of days after signing the contract, Jay called us and told us that they would not be starting until a week later because his father, Rich, had already promised to do another job during that time. Although we told them we were very upset with this change, there was no discussion or an apology for this scheduling conflict. The next problem we had was that Jay had told us that everyone who worked for the company was family, a uncle, a cousin, etc. When I came home to meet the installers, they told me that they were not family but only sub-contractors. I was also upset to find them cutting wood in our house because we had explicitly told Jay that we did not want any sawdust in the house which was the main reason we chose pre-finished wood. The sub-contractors explained that they were not informed and said that they would cut the rest of the wood outside. The nightmare began when they started work on the upstairs. For a 2-3 day job (although the company insisted it was going to be a 1 day job), it took Value Floors 3 months to finish installing wood floors on the upstairs. First, we argued about the materials being used. The sub-contractor installed unfinished stair-nosing with pre-finished wood. We expressed to the company that manually stained unfinished stair-nosing did not match the rest of the wood that was being used on the staircase. It took 2 months before they would agree to order the pre-finished stairnosing. The first time they ordered the pre-finished stair-nosing, the wood was of a different oak and of a different stain. Once we had the right materials, we realized that the subcontractor could not adequately perform the work. After 5 days, he only installed wood on half of the stair-case and half of that "completed work" needed to be re-done. There were obvious gaps and jagged edges. This sub-contractor was also very unreliable. He would show up anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours late or not at all. We finally told Rich and Jay that the sub-contractor was no longer welcome in our home and they needed to send someone else that could correct what has been done and properly finish the job. After 4 days of arguing with the Value Floors where they constantly insisted that the sub-contractor was the best person they had to do the job, they finally sent the other co-owner, Ron, to finish the job. Ron did correct the obvious mistakes from the previous sub-contractor and did an average job to finish the stairs. What they did not correct, they filled with wood putty to hide the problems. However, I question the integrity of this "family-owned" business. Ron, a co-owner, had installed a threshold that was obviously cut too short and installed it anyway. If I did not mention anything to him, he would not have corrected the mistake. Ron also said that he would fill any holes or gaps to give the stairs a cleaner look. Only after I asked him twice to do this, did he finally do so. And even after that, the job done wasn't all that great. Some of the holes were missed and some filled sloppily. We also found another cracked board but Ron said that they were not going to replace anymore cracked boards. When it came down to the final payment, Ron gave us $100 off for all the aggravation and stress that we went through and then I took another $50 off for the cracked board that they refused to replace. But believe me, the $100 did not come close to all the sleepless nights and lost time we went through dealing with this company. When I handed Ron the final check, he said that Rich and Jay told him that we owe $400 more for the pre-finished stair-nosing. I told Ron we had always asked for pre-finished wood and believed that was what we paid for. Therefore, I never understood why they were trying to use unfinished stair-nosing and I was not about to pay an extra $400 for something that I'm already paying for. Ron finally took our check and said that Rich and Jay can deal with the $400 themselves. This was a huge mistake we made by hiring this company and my wish is that someone will learn and benefit from our mistake. (Edited January 01, 2008)

Not True - I've been a customer for years.

I was searching for their showroom hours when I came across this complaint, which really shocked me.  I have to say, I had the completely opposite experience.  To date, this company has done my kitchen, a bathroom, family room, hall, stairs, and are now quoting me for a front door and two rooms of carpeting.  Each room was completely gutted and redone, from the baseboards to light fixtures.  My...

The Truth

Here's the truth in a nutshell.Customer wanted something for nothing,we did not INSTALL this top or vanity.Customer brought in sizes, top was made to her measurements. We did NOT sell her the cabinet,if she has a problem with install, she should talk to the person who installed it.We did NOT sell her a faucet,it is not our fault that she doesn't like it.Again,Gary the contractor measured this NOT...
