They "shine in fresh pasta", "fabulous" sauces and "to-die-for" pizza by the pie or slice at these "true Italian markets" where "cool and collected" staffers oversee the "bustling" scene of glass cases and racks of ravioli; that they're "small on cost but big on flavor" makes them "great places to stock your freezer" or do "takeout" when you don't feel like cooking.

Who would expect such solid pizza from a place that feels like it is in an alley just off Wisconsin? Friendly employees and very good pizza. Hi quality pizza. Worthy of good wine pairing after a long work week. However, if you like pizza with lots of cheese, Vace is not the place.

This is my go to pizza place in the DMV. Love the pizza here. Always non-greasy. Slight crispness to their crust. Delicious sauce.

If you are looking for cheesy pizza, this is not it but if you want the star of the pizza to be the sauce then this is the pizza to enjoy. Wonderful thick sauce. Not greasy. We chose mushrooms for the topping, not enough of them, also needs more oregano. Crust perfectly baked.

Vace Italian Deli is a small Italian grocery/deli owned and run by the Calcagno family. Blanca and Valerio Calcagno first opened the deli in 1977, and have managed to keep it open for 30 years! You will find an array of home-made pastas, pizza, gourmet deli meats and cheeses, as well as many fine Italian groceries all in one stop.
