Help us make it rightUSS CONSTITUTION: America's Ship of State / World's Oldest Commissioned Warship Afloat
Better known as "Old Ironsides," the USS Constitution rides proudly at anchor in her berth at the Charlestown Navy Yard. The oldest commissioned ship in the U.S. fleet is a battlewagon of the old school, of the days of "wooden ships and iron men"—when she and her crew of 200 succeeded at the perilous task of asserting the sovereignty of an improbable new nation. Every July 4 and on certain...
Wait to go until construction is finished. Very limited hours. You can visit the museum and the USS Casson Young while there.
This is one of a kind and something most people will get a chance to see in their lifetime. It's history is unbelievable.
Tours are given by active duty seamen so a security check is required. The ship is currently (Feb 2016) undergoing repairs in dry dock, so the tour is limited for that reason. Still a good tour. Free.
How can you go to Boston and not see the USS Constitution. Great tour, rest rooms and restaurant available.

Open for public visitation! Visit www.navy.mil/local/constitution for more info!

Currently the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat, this impressive craft is open for free guided tours, which are...
Still a commissioned ship, the Constitution is operated by the Navy. Sailors in period costume lead groups through this piece of American history, telling stories of the battles of "Old Ironsides" and the conditions her crew lived in. When you're in the shipyard, keep your eyes to the sky and guide yourself toward the Constitution by its masts.
