Help us make it rightWent to emergency room in Penn Yan and received a medical device that was too small for me. The same day I contacted the manufacturer and had them send me the correct size and was billed $31.00 for cost of device plus shipping and handling. 6 weeks later I receive a bill from Upstate Regional Medical Devices for $84.62 for the device I originally received at the emergency room. Total cost billed on the invoice was $120.00. This for the same device I got shipped to my house from the manufacturer for a total of $31.00. While I understand that companies need to make a profit, a 300% mark-up seems pretty outrageous to me. This kind of price gouging should be prosecuted, but in liberal NY, it won't be. Too bad.
