They do tons of stuff here--from sushi to noodles to Robata to teriyaki--and they seem to do all of it well. Maki-wise, try the Surf & Turf for an unusually meaty treat.

Short wait 15 minutes for a table for two, quick and polite service, not imposing.
Each dish was fresh and nicely prepared with no excess salt or fat. Every diner had a plate in front of them that I would want to try.

Took my team for dinner while in Chicago. The team voted for sushi and after researching Umai looked like a good choice. That was an understatement....what a great time. The staff was great....the food was excellent. We had a ton of choices for both sushi...

I’m always crazy indecisive when it comes to trying new rolls and I really like that at this restaurant they cater to that! You can actually order half rolls of their specialty sushi which is exactly what we did and were able to sample many...
