Help us make it rightWhile the Twisted Spoke's motif is that of a hard-driving biker diner, you are more than welcome if your Harley happens to be in the shop, or even if the only bike you own is a Schwinn. Order one of the fat boys, a grilled burger topped with onions, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Daily specials include meatloaf, pasta and fish, and don't dare miss the biker brunch on Wednesday, to power up for the...

This quasi-biker's hangout is rather rough around the edges (and intentionally so), but its burgers are among the tastiest in the city. Juicy and big, they’re best washed down with a meal-in-itself Road Rash Mary, a condiment-loaded Bloody Mary that comes with a beer chaser. Other finds (all of them solid) include a massive fried egg sandwich on thick-cut rye, barbecue pork shoulder sandwich...
Your "basic neighborhood biker bar", this Noble Square stop slings solid burgers and other "quite filling" midpriced pub grub while pouring "slammin' Bloody Marys"; the staff provides "service with an edge" (while on some nights "X-rated TV screens" play), and whether patrons call it "funky" and "casual" or just "a dump", most agree "it's fun to try at least once."
Helmets, license plates and photos of locals and their beloved bikes adorn the walls. The crowd is a friendly mix of tattooed punks and River West yuppies. The menu includes barbecue, meat loaf,...
Pros
+ fun atmospheregood bar food
Want good drinks with great food on a rooftop with picnic tables? Then twisted spoke is your kinda joint. Biker themed but hipster frequented this is my neighborhood favorite. Drink specials, a juicy burger and a hooked up shrimp poboy keep me coming back. Service can slow down over weekends but the rooftop patio will cool your heels while you wait!
OMG As if you did not know, The best whiskey selection I've ever seen! Bloody Mary's? Yea, awesome! I love this place for Sunday Funday or pretty much any day. Better than typical bar food. All and all a staple for Chicago!
My husband and I have lived in this neighborhood for 5 years and have frequented the Twisted Spoke fairly often. As another customer posted it is the Broken Spoke now. We haven't been for a few...
Where to start?1. We didn't see a server for about 20 minutes and another 20 minutes to get our drinks. 2. One side of the rooftop got service regularly and promptly while our side didn't....
Delicious food, amazing Bloody Mary's and a really fun rooftop. The only downside to this place is, if you have to wait for a table, it can get pretty crowded by the bar. Oh, they also play hardcore porn on all the TVs after midnight on Saturdays if you're into porn with your food, Its called "Smut N Eggs" ?

A skeleton on a giant spinning motorcycle on the roof of the building greets hungry diners morning, noon and night. It's biker-friendly (Think bikes from the '40s.), but the diverse crowd doesn't make anyone feel excluded. Motorcycle parts are strewn throughout the joint as décor. Best known for its whiskey offerings (it stocks more than 400 whiskeys alone.), it's also great for brunch. Its...

The Extras: Saturdays at midnight, it's "Smut 'n Eggs," featuring the breakfast menu and bad '70s porn.
Save Money: On Tuesdays, most beers--domestic and import, draft and bottled--are just $2.50
Where to Sit: The rooftop deck is a great place to hang out, but don't expect quiet, as trucks frequently rumble by on Ogden Avenue.
Know Before You Go: Though the Spoke gets rowdy in the evenings, it hosts a family-friendly crowd at weekend brunch and lunch.
