Next door to Barnard Griffin Winery, Bookwalter produces red wines aged in French oak barrels and whites that are 100% stainless-steel fermented. The classic Merlot is celebrated. Blends are prevalent in both reds and whites. The on-site restaurant, Fiction, features small plates like prosciutto flatbread with pears, six types of salad, and heartier fare such as steaks, burgers, and salmon.
A "Turkish delight" say fans of the "flavorful", "exquisitely prepared" plates at this "value" Roscoe Villager with casual, white-tablecloth environs and a "low noise level" fit for "big groups" and "first dates" alike; there's also "pleasant sidewalk seating", so though service can be "slow" when it's "packed", it remains a "favorite local spot."
White tablecloths and exposed brick greet you at this friendly-and-festive Turkish restaurant. Straightforward dishes like chicken kebabs with yogurt sauce are balanced by more complicated concoctions like lamb begendi (lamb simmered in onion, cherry tomatoes and banana pepper served over eggplant purée and mozzarella cheese), and imam bayildi (pan-roasted baby eggplant stuffed with red pepper,...
This review is only for their brunch:
This place is a neighborhood gem. The menu is mostly Mediterranean. I love their short rib entrée and their gnocchi with oxtail ragu melts in your mouth. The food was delicious, if you like waiting 1 1/2 hours for it. Despite the amazing bread, due to the horrible service, I will not be returning.
