Tryg's Restaurant Review: With its warm woods, soaring barrel vaulted ceilings, lavish stonework and handsome contemporary furnishings, it's no wonder that Tryg's is noted for its design. (Ask for a semi-private seat in one of the plush, 270-degree booths.) The kitchen holds up its end, too, focusing on a wood-burning grill that burnishes deep smoke flavor into a variety of steaks, chops and...

Whenever I eat in restaurants I always check their desserts. I'm glad my favorite sweets are here. It makes me happy.
We went here after seeing Cirque de Soleil. The atmosphere was hopping yet warm a cozy. The restaurant was not crowded (probably too early) and our waiter was great; very attentive. Food was great! I had beef tenderloin bites, kids had edamame & garden flatbread. It was just very very pleasant and good!
This is the first time I've been to Trygs for dinner. We also planned to stay at the bar and listen to the "old school" music. The service was good; the food was fine. The baby back ribs were excellent--meaty with an interesting sauce that was a little sweet/tart. The fries, unfortunately, weren't crispy at all. The coleslaw was excellent. The old school, music started about 8:30 with a really...
Service was great. However it was freezing cold at our table. The food was just ok and luke warm. The stuffing was really soggy. Nice desert options but missing whip cream.
Absolutely excellent. The buffet had lots of selections and the food delicious, good service, nice atmosphere. We were a party of 4, seated in a booth, able to easily talk and hear. I've always wanted to eat out on Thanksgiving and never have before. It was wonderful, we all enjoyed!

I went to Tryg's for dinner on Saturday night and was WOWED! The place was beautiful, the food outstanding and the service prompt and friendly. They had an outside firepit, perfect for a cold winter night. I'll be back. Next time with a group of friends. -

The fireplace and wood-burning rotisserie set the tone for this relaxing restaurant. Tryg's offers a nice taste of Americana while the warmth from the kitchen radiates throughout the restaurant. A filling late-night menu attracts a casual crowd, and its proximity to Lake Calhoun and the neighboring St. Louis Park gives the bar a more suburban feel. It is a nice retreat from the buzz of the...
