Sashimi quality and variety was excellent, but cut in half, not full slices. From sitting to leaving, took an hour and a half. A small place like this should get us in/out quickly. Don't get me...

It may be off the radar of city dwellers, but this 20-seat Japanese storefront does lots of things well. The chirashi bowl is a favorite from the first-rate sushi bar, and the kitchen turns out such beautifully presented dishes as salmon okabe, peachy-pink fish stuffed with creamy tofu. Even the oshinko, a rainbow of vinegary pickles, is a crunchy highlight.
Toraya is a small Japanese restaurant located just on the outskirts of the town's center. Though it is a little out of the way, that does not stop the crowds from finding it. Often busy, Toraya has become a favorite spot for sushi and other authentic Japanese dishes, such as the agedashi tofu appetizer and an array of donburi varieties. The bento boxes are also a draw.
