Thrive Restaurant Review

Thrive fills a glowing contemporary space in Centennial Tower, one of Atlanta's downtown high-rise office buildings. Now serving in a consulting capacity, former executive chef Justin Cox keeps the restaurant in touch with local farmers. So the farm-to-table veggie plate relies on locally produced goods. Georgia strawberries team up with goat cheese for a summer salad. Crispy fried green...

“Cool music”, a sleek design and a “convenient” location with “easy parking” are the lures at this sceney Downtown venue near CNN Center that not incidentally supplies a “delicious” American menu jazzed up with a “beautifully presented” sushi selection; it’s just the ticket for a “work” lunch or “special business dinner” given the “good prices” and “attentive” service.

The high-energy see-and-be-seen scene is the backdrop for Oscar Pinto's (formerly at Sia's) eclectic cooking. Start with the ginger chicken-and-potato pot stickers, which are five well-defined morsels under a hint of soy vinaigrette. A… Read More

The attractive crowd, spry and sharply dressed, flirt among bulging burgers and grilled grouper. G.M.-partner A.D. Allushi and company keep an emphasis on sushi. Allushi’s raw weakness lies in the Vesuvius, a roll swelling with tuna, cucumber, mango and avocado. And extended hours are suited for a late-night cocktail and catch.

Thrive's happy hour was a great price. The Blood Orange cocktail kind of reminded me of my college days but the Chardonnay was very good as was the flatbread!

Tips about this business (2)

The Extras: The DL special sushi roll, yellowtail, avocado, and kewpie sauce is lightly fried and fantastic. Pair it with something from the excellent sake list.

Parking: Valet is complementary, but hard to find. You have to circle the building.
