Three Aces Crew Reveals Name, More Tidbits on West Town Spot

Wonder no more what the Three Aces team will name their new concept in West Town. Revealed today, the name is Charlatan. In a meaning that can also describe Three Aces, ownership uses the word as "a showman, who does much with little," according to a release.

As reported yesterday, Charlatan's food and drink will be "locally sourced, modern Italian inspired fare with local brews, hand-crafted...

Design Details Emerge For Three Aces Spot In West Town

With the sudden 2013 closing of the much-beloved West Town Tavern and the here-today/gone-tomorrow Chicago Taco pop-up, the space at 1329 W. Chicago has lain fallow for more than a year. However, emerging details about the new Three Aces spot indicate a high energy concept in line with the Taylor Street spot, as set by the phrase "Dine & Drink Rock & Roll" which has been hand-painted in gold...

Three Aces Owners Taking Over West Town Tavern Space

Susan and Drew Goss finally have a taker for the West Town Tavern space. The ownership behind the raucous "gastropunk" Taylor Street spot Three Aces, an Eater 38 restaurant, is coming in, Crain's reports.

Though it may look like "Keith Richards' basement bar", this midpriced "rockabilly gastropub" gives culinary nods to its Little Italy 'hood while swapping out the mixed nuts for grub that goes "way beyond normal bar fare"; service can be "varied", but with a "great beer selection" featuring many Midwestern brews, most barely notice.

We thought that it was a restaurant, but were seated in a bar. The food was very good, I had the smoked pork chop, but really bad service. No description of the menu from the server and very little attention if any. Honestly, probably won't go back. Reasonable prices though.

I want to like this place, but living across the street for a few years has taught me better. Service is subpar. Food is good, especially the beer, burger and shot combo after 11pm! They also serve Not Your Fathers Root Beer beer, which I personally enjoy. The patio is nice, but again, service is always lacking.

Nice spot for hanging out.

Their menu is very limited but the food was tasty. The drinks were a bit strong for my liking but they do have a full bar.

A descent choice for folks headed to the UC

The outdoor seating area is probably the best feature of this spot. They have the tall fire torches placed through the patio area, which was nice for a chilly night. We stopped here before heading to a Blackhawks game. The menu is simple and the burgers seemed to be the preferred choice for everyone in my party, except for me. I tried the thin crust pizza and was underwhelmed by it. Our server...

Business description (6) view all

Three Aces is located at 1321 W Taylor St Ste 1 in Chicago and has been in the business of Retail - Family Restaurants since 2010.

The Italian countryside meets the American farmhouse...in Keith Richard's basement bar.

Restaurants near UIC Pavilion, Restaurants near United Center: Three Aces doesn't get enough love when it comes to its burger and craft beer selection unless you've been to the place and know how good both are. The service is equally top notch as is the environment. It can get dark, loud and busy so saddle up to a bar spot or table and start with something from the bar bites section of the menu...

Situated in the neighborhood of University Village, Three Aces serves serious Italian meals within a Gastropub atmosphere. Expect comfort food like duck fat chips to Bolognese fries, gnocchi to pizzas, duck breast to burgers.

Italian GastroPunk..in Chicago's Little Italy.

Go for the fabulous burger, stay for the fabulous cocktails. I also love the brunch and bar snacks.

Shockingly awesome bar food, from the fancy popcorn to juicy burger & boozy Italian ice. Beer menu is top-notch, as is service. Lovely patio
