For a city divided by a river, Portland has remarkably few eateries that take advantage of a waterfront setting. This pleasant wine bar and bistro is the exception, located along an attractive stretch of the Riverplace neighborhood and…
This may not be the most stylish wine bar in town, but it has by far the best view of any Portland wine bar. Thirst looks out over the RiverPlace Marina and the Willamette River, and, when the weather is good, you can sit at an outdoor table on the esplanade.
Went on a Tuesday and it was really slow. I had a high expectation based on the area it was located. My friend and I ordered off the happy hour menu. Flat iron steak and potatos. I also ordered the salad. The food was presented nicely LOOKED delicious. I should have asked for the dressing on the side it was drenched.The...
Went to Thirst on very short notice (10 minutes heads up) as a group of 12 on a busy night which should have been taxing on their staff and quaint location, but not only did they handle the challenge, they exceeded our expectations for quality of service and atmosphere. The bar has an artsy and relaxing feel and the menu...

It was a stormy evening, so this meal fit the day perfectly. I’m even going to share with you that I had the leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still amazing. I had to hurry and eat them before any other family...
Gourmet appetizers. Many reasonably priced Happy Hour items. I had the Seafood Bisque and the Baked Brie in pastry with french bread. slices. Perfect companions to their delicious local wines. Very romantic window seat for two along the Williamette with views of the marina and bridges at sunset. Owners provided outstanding, friendly service. We'll definitely return.
As a visitor to the Portland area you may not be lucky enough to stumble upon Thirst. In fact, you may not even stumble upon Thirst as a resident of Portland. Short and simple, you need to make time to visit Thirst if you are looking for a fantastic dinner. The location isn't bad either, providing a front row seat...
