Help us make it rightMy family and I visited the University of Alaska Museum of the North this morning. This is a small museum on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
The museum is in a beautiful building that houses the exhibits and also serves as labs and offices for the scholastic staff.

The displays and artifacts give a wonderful history of Alaska. I enjoyed the folk art and the sculpture of the polar bear. I also enjoyed the photography. The room of the sounds of the earth was fascinating.
Not to be missed if you're in Fairbanks. Taxied over, had just an hour, not enough. Some amazing art, old and new. Local current artists featured as well as traditional historical works.
the museum has many wonderful exhibits there is a lot of information to be gained from the video presentations throughout the various galleries..there is gift shop and coffe shop located on ground floor ..for those wirhout their transport it can be reached via the bus..blue line route
It isn't a very big museum so it's a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. We went back a second day to watch the movie on the Northern Lights.
