The StillRoom is a Seafood Restaurant & Lounge in Pasadena, CA. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall, Chef Sam Goldman (founding member of "Kitchen Confidential") creates simple, yet exquisitely prepared food, while AJ Nocita concocts freshly muddled cocktails behind the bar.

I was here with a group on a Sunday evening - the place seemed moderately full given that it has maybe 10-14 tables. The service was attentive and the explanations were clear - this place specializes in fresh seafood. The favorite for the table with the rockfish "in the swim", sea scallops, and the grilled halibut over black beans.
The desserts were a mixed bag - the flourless chocolate cake and lemon tart were okay, but the standouts were the apple tart and the bread pudding with caramel sauce. The waiter did suggest the bread pudding, but we wanted to try all of them so I'd suggest following his suggestions in the future. :)
Overall the pricing was quite reasonable; none of us drink alcohol, and the total bill for appetizers, main entree and dessert worked out to be $50 per person which is quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of food. I'll be back.

Food was fair, lacked flavor and presentation
Second visit and disappointed that the fish dishes were the same with no specials and they added more meat entree selections. The first time there we were told they had only a steak entree for the owner's father. They advertise as a seafood restaurant. What happened?
We had a wonderful dinner and lovely service from start to finish .
Wonderful local spot. Food is fabulous and the bar is one of, if not the best in the area (not for the bar scene but for the actual drinks served )
The food is great. The people are terrific! We really like this restaurant. The service is a little slow on the weekends. No problem during the week when it was less busy. We will go back though and try it again!
