The Roof Garden Restaurant Review

A secluded spot at the top of The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The Roof Garden features a haven from bustling Beverly Hills below. Sweeping city views, a 60-foot swimming pool surrounded by heated limestone tiles and a chef's vegetable and herb garden make for a surreal setting. Guests can gather around the fire pit or at the bar to enjoy cocktails or appetizers like tuna with crisped pineapple and...

As far as rooftop oases go in this town, the service, elegance and attention to detail make this space the one to beat.

In Short
This rooftop has everything to show for its recent $4 million redesign: A proper restaurant with its own chef de cuisine, a singular menu independent of The Belvedere downstairs,...

Nice atmosphere on top of the peninsula hotel. Staff is super nice and reflects the 5-star hotel service. Food is tasty and portions big. Recommend for drinks or lunch.

Been there three times while staying at the Peninsula for holidays. Two out of three times we waited more than 40 minutes for our food to arrive ! How is it possible in the world renowned Peninsula ?

Tips about this business (4)

What to Drink

The speckled jalapeno margarita is served on the rocks and with a definite kick. The pomegranate mojito has a clean, distinctive taste of mint without any of the residue.

When to Go

The closest you'll get to a bargain (a dirty word for some guests) at The Peninsula is a prix fixe three-course barbeque every weekend for $55. Begin with three varieties of salads, watch your entree being prepared on the outdoor grill, and enjoy dessert overlooking Beverly Hills. Served from 4pm to 9pm on weekends.

Parking

Meters abound in the neighborhood, especially during evenings. Valet is $8 for first two hours and $2 for every 30 minutes afterward with validation.

Know Before You Go

If you're not a hotel guest, forget about taking a dip in the pool. Even then, it costs $250 a day to rent one of the 12 precious cabanas.
