Embracing the relaxed elegance of a classic seaside resort, this recently renovated marina-front property introduces guests to such pleasures as watching seals frolic in the bay or savoring the beauty of the Pacific Ocean from their own…

Open your balcony door and listen to the sounds of a naturally occurring Sea World at the Portofino. Ocean- and channel-side rooms echo with the calls of sea birds and sea lions; marina side rooms look over sailboats and docks. From the hotel's very private peninsula, walk or bike to the nearby seaside lagoon or rent a kayak and explore the protected harbor. Interiors are beachy but...

As a charter motorcoach driver I travel with tour groups, I drive coaches from 16 pax to 56 pax, I am not always treated very well. I love this Hotel. The staff is so friendly, kind overall pleasant. Everything is beautiful from my room to the grounds. Thank you, Sars, Ali, Tom!

I'm writing this review while sitting in the lobby lounge, my favourite part of this hotel. The ambiance and the mood is sooo relaxing. Exactly what I needed at the end of my round the world trip. The staff are all wonderful and everyone goes beyond to make me feel welcome. Persons of note for good service are Amelia for my green tea with a smile in the morning, Claire and Tom on the front...

What to Eat: Onsite restaurant Baleen offers seafood-centric, New American cuisine helmed by Daniel Roberts, former executive chef of the Mondrian Los Angeles. Another great option is Quality Seafood, located on the Redondo Beach Pie. This open-air fish market offers a staggering selection of fresh fish and live shellfish cooked to order.

The Extras: After relaxing by the private oceanside pool and taking a workout in the 24 hour fitness center, venture off hotel grounds on one of the complementary beach cruisers. The area boasts 27 miles of water-front bike paths. Check out The Redondo Beach pleasure pier for authentic seafood, arcades and kitschy tourist shopping.
