Always something new to look at!!
The Driskill Hotel is down the road from the Texas State House (supposedly because it housed a 19th. century Gentleman's Club patronized by cattle barons). The building was saved from destruction and lovingly restored to its Victorian splendor, which unfortunately, despite the modern lighting still is a little dim, almost by gaslight. The hotel is conveniently located if you are exploring Austin by foot or car. It's a short walk to all of the live music, clubs and restaurants you could possibly want to see. I would definitely stay there again if I return to Austin.

(Cody Leonard is the current chef.) And there's...
