The Food menu is driven by relationships created with those sharing the same passion for their craft as we do ours, written daily to allow the farmer to select what they feel is ready to serve.
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA—It's official: the Blue Bottle packaged New Orleans iced coffee has landed. You can find it in the milk section at every NorCal Whole Foods, as well as at Blue Bottle's shops. (Didn't see our first look at it a few weeks back? Check it out.) [EaterWire]

SF Beer Week gets bigger and bigger with each passing year, offering a dizzying, ever-growing array of events to boggle the mind and confound the liver. With opening night approaching on Friday, we've chosen 15 events in SF and the East Bay that we think are going to be really special, but that leaves out hundreds of others sure to delight beer geeks, especially given the insane number of...
HAYES VALLEY—Proposition Chicken is in the process of electing beer and wine to its ballot, with the promise of draft brews and a "really cool happy hour." They may also stay open until 2 am on weekends if they can get the booze approved, which should take 3-6 months. [Hayeswire]

In terms of restaurant rip-off nights, New Year's Eve is only outpaced by the next dining holiday down the pike, Valentine's Day. Given that it's a holiday typified by luxury and copious amounts of bubbly, it can be hard to find a place to dine out without signing up for a pricey prix-fixe. So we've compiled a list of 12 spots where it's possible to enjoy great food on New Year's Eve for under...
THE MISSION—Beer pairing vs. wine pairing is an eternal conundrum, but the Abbot's Cellar has found a way to settle the score: tomorrow and Saturday, they're doing a special $75 Grape & Grain tasting menu, paired with Allagash and Dogfish Head beers that use both wine and beer components. Good beer selection, snazzy mission decor, and tastier food than you'd expect from a typical mission hipsteria.

Proably never would have tried this place if it weren't for a lovely gift card from my brother...but I'm so glad we did! The most incredible food ever! My only regret is not going for the four course pre fix. I made the financial choice to skip the $85 price tag of the 4 courses each paired with a specialty beer. I won't make that mistake next time! Don't be afraid of the price...worth every...
Turned a wine-only drinker into a beer enthusiast. It's also a very versatile venue - great for a date or big family dinner. The service is exceptional. Expert servers and a very cool hostess who goes out of her way to accommodate special seating requests and puts the guests at ease.
Scallops were to die for. Gingerbread doughnuts too. Very friendly staff. Will be back again.

Come for the beer, stay for the food! I recommend the tasting menu with beer pairings; it's reasonably priced and it's the best way to really get the full scope of what they're trying to do at Abbot's Cellar. From amuse-bouche to dessert, I the courses and their pairings were tasty and interesting. Great spot for a date (as long as your date likes beer).
One of the city's coolest-looking restaurants of late, with a wicked beer program. The staff is very educated and passionate about the list--you're bound to make some great discoveries here. Food veers on the heartier/tavern-y side of things.
Impressive if daunting beer list. Try the four-course tasting menu with pairings.
