Cassoulet at Back Forty West; Tickets to the Jubilee

SOHO — On March 9, Back Forty West is hosting its annual cassoulet tasting. Six chefs, including Seamus Mullen of Tertulia and cookbook author David Tanis, will serve their versions of the dish along with wines from southwest France. "Northern Spain" comes to "Nuevo York" via this Villager from Seamus Mullen (ex Boqueria), where "fabulous" tapas and Basque cider on tap are dispensed in "rustic", stone-walled digs; it's a "muy caliente" scene with "high prices" and a no-rez policy that can make for "long waits", but fans insist it's "worth it."

Great food, very knowledgeable staff! The menu is tapas style so you can continue to order all evening without any pressure to turn the table.

I came here for Restaurant Week and loved it. This place has great food and ambience that is upscale but not fancy. It's fairly quiet and would be good for an intimate evening out.

Adorable restaurant! Great cocktail list. Loved the pulpo. The food was delicious. Restaurant week menu was perfect. I loved the Spanish red wine. It was a splurge but worth it.
