took our money, no results

We had hard drive failures within the RAID of the servers and brought it in to Tech Fusion. The person I spoke to didnt know what ESXi was (should have been a red flag) and we went through the process. We paid an extra fee for expedited evaluation ($4,500). The evaluation took longer than anticipated and then they eventually said it could be recovered for a particular price (a Very HIGH price I may add at $7,500, in addition to the evaluation). I said I would need to get approval from the owners of the company and then a short while later they emailed to say they were nearly done and needed payment. We never authorized the work, but they went ahead and did it anyway. They then wanted to have a call and when we said we were waiting to see if business insurance will cover the cost they want to be helpful to get the money and suggest lying to the insurance agent to get it covered. They actually asked the agent what they need to say in order to have it be concidered covered. The insurance agent actually called the owner of our business to say let us know what was happening. If you ask me it was pretty unethical.
None the less, they said the data was all recovered and we agreed and sent payment in (and not through insurance) as we could still use the data (most of the data had already been re-constructed from other backup sources).

They were to send us the original hardware back including the servers and original hard drives, and the recovered data on an external drive. The owner, Alfred, said he would overnight the data to us... well he sent it ground and it ended up getting re-routed all over the place before it finally got delivered to us 4 days later.

We get the external drive and nothing is usable on it. All of the files are corrupted and several folders that were on the hard drive were just empty. i had asked several times if they just forgot to copy those folders over and no response, they just avoided the question. I ask about he corrupted files and they tell me well we can fix that, for another $3,500. We have already spent over $10,000 and have NOTHING to show for it, not a single file that is usable. I cant see spending more and more money and I have NOTHING to show for it.

They never sent the original hard drives back and when I question the owner about it I am pretty much told tough luck.

My experience with TechFusion was a resounding success. As both a private individual with precious data and a small graphics business owner I believed I had lost months of artwork as well as thousands of rare digitized music and recordings from old irreplaceable sources. Mr. Demirgian was immediately helpful and realistically hopeful, as well as very personable and honest. He gave me a preliminary informal diagnosis over the phone when I described how my hard drive was behaving in order to try to determine whether the job was worth my money to undertake. Luckily it was. Considering all I...

Dear Alfred,
I can't thank you enough for what you did for my family. The disc that you so graciously repaired and gifted to me held so many of our precious family photos and videos. As you know, my father was very ill. I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to meet him but he was so very sick by the time I met you that he had a very hard time concentrating on anything or anyone.
He asked so many times to see the family pictures and we all cried when we were finally able to show him many of the pics and videos that you saved for us. He died on Saturday the tenth at 7:34 in the morning. He...

Our small nonprofit organization would be lost without the services of Alfred Demirjian and his staff at TechFusion. They came to our rescue when viruses shut down our machines. Though we feared that the data as well as the machines were lost, they were successful in restoring all of our data, as well as the computers themselves.

They went on to provide the kind of proactive advice we needed to get our electronic infrastructure on solid footing, advising us on hardware to purchase, and referring us to helpful vendors, which enabled us to make the most of our small budget. We are...

Editorial review from Citysearch

Contrary to their slogan, there is such a thing as lost data. I took in a flash drive that went haywire with mostly Word documents on it. They took 1 month+ to determine they couldn't get anything off the flash drive or the hard drive of the computer I was using, which I brought in and left with them for weeks. And charged $650.

Don't go here! The owner (Alfred) is rude and dishonest. They charged me a fortune and lied about the amount of data they had recovered. Alfred is an amateur and his staff is equally incompetent. I would go straight to a professional company who will be upfront about their pricing and how long the process of data recovery actually takes. I felt like these guys cheated me and treated me like...
