The Tasting Room Restaurant Review

An extensive wine selection is complemented by a full menu of vino-friendly nibbles --- from fondue, flatbreads and small plates to offerings like short rib grilled cheese with heirloom tomato soup; spicy shrimp grilled with romaine lettuce served with house-made buttermilk ranch dressing; and beer-braised pork with leeks, pea tendrils and grilled potatoes.

Step into this sophisticated wine bar, with its exposed-brick walls, high ceilings, and contemporary stainless-steel accents, and you'll feel like you've walked into a stylish friend's downtown loft. (Adding to the insider feeling is the remote far West Loop location, where few other tourists venture.) Located upstairs from Randolph Wine Cellars, a well-stocked wine shop, the Tasting Room...

With exposed brick walls, comfy couches and a fantastic second-floor window view, the Tasting Room is an oasis at the far west end of Randolph's restaurant row. The wine list is formidable, the small plates are explosive with flavor (bacon-wrapped dates stuff with manchego in roasted red pepper sauce, grilled beef tenderloin skewers) and the atmosphere is just right for a wine bar. But like...

The tasting room is a beautiful venue, the upstairs has an amazing view of the city. Once you can get past their events coordinator... she is kind of nasty, emails come off a bit rude. The manager, Marc, was great to work with and we had a great event. Appetizers were a lil slow coming out and they didn't have all the liquor stocked that they say they would.

Chef worked to incorporate off menu items for our reception. Availability of some av equipment was not clear, but they came through on the night of the event. Perfect place for a small reception.

We had a destination wedding over the holidays and decided to have a large party/reception in January to celebrate with the people we love. The team at The Tasting Room was so flexible with us! We were able to customize just about everything without any hassles or complications. Our event planner, Jackie, was super organized and extremely customer service oriented which made our experience an...

Have been here a few times a year for the last couple years. We enjoy the wine flights, the easy parking, and the great view from the second floor, but he food is what really sets it apart from other wine bars. The menu changes with the season, but always has great cheese plates and flatbreads. The kitchen looks pretty...

Good small wine tasting room with very tasty charcuterie platters in the heart of Chicago life on Oak Street. We enjoyed their name brand wine as well and had a number of flights. Knowledgeable staff and winces are available for purchase as well.

The Tasting Room is a neighborhood wine lounge and restaurant in downtown Chicago.

"Impressive" skyline views from the upstairs lounge and "endless wine options" are "the stars" at this "tastefully decorated" West Loop New American in a "warehouse space" complete with brickwork and overhead ducts; though doubters dub the small and large plates merely "decent" and "a tad overpriced", cushy couches and candlelight still make it a "good place to take a date."

The Tasting Room is a neighborhood wine lounge and restaurant in downtown Chicago. Striving to be the most comprehensive, comfortable, and attitude-free environment for the enjoyment of fine wines, brews, spirits, as well as for innovative nouveau-American dining, The Tasting Room has been a destination wine bar in Chicago and the nation at large since we opened in 2000. Situated at the western...
