What's up with all the holes in the floor? Is it an aesthetic choice to make drivers comfortable that they have to be on high alert with their shopping carts just like the road they drove on?

This was my first visit to a baby Target. It was unusual being able to see all the walls. They had most, but not all, of the items I was looking for today. The amount of grocery items available...
