Tango Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review

Dark ambience and rich atmosphere fill this sexy, multi-level hideaway in a 1908 brick building on Capitol Hill. In the kitchen, chef Michael Bruno mingles traditional Latin-inspired dishes with Pacific Northwest ingredients. Favorites include such classics as habanero-spiked Dungeness crab with portobello mushrooms, sweet black vinegar and wakame (seaweed). Ideal for sharing, the...

The Scene
Dim lights and pale linens provide a properly unobtrusive setting for two works of art: the plates of food and the diners. Those lingering over meals put on their most stylish outfit for a night on the town. Servers are… Read More

We went there for dinner to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We had made reservation and we were seated right away. 15 minutes later a waiter came to take our drinks order. 15 minutes later our drink came. We sip and chat and tried to enjoy our drinks. 15 minutes later our waiter came by and took our orders. My wife order a seafood entrée and mine was the bistek. Her order came and we...

We took our family out to dinner at Tango for the first time. We are visiting the area and we were looking for something casual but good. This was a home run. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. The only downside was that we had ordered the lamb chops for our 11 year-old daughter and there was too much pepper for her. The cheese tray was magnificent. I had the...

Our waitress a short haired women with tattoo's was unenthused to even try and explain the menu to us. She didn't fill our waters once, and every time she checked on us, it was rush and seemed like she completely forgot about us. The place was not busy.. most the food was great except the octopus, which was dry and flavorless for $20.. just overall dissatisfied

Great variety in small plates. We had a leisurely business meeting with good service and no rushing.

One of our very favorite places. We always let the server do the ordering and are never disappointed. Every time there is a dish we had not had before. This time two dishes were standouts one was an octopus dish and the other a ham dish both were very good and dishes we would not have chooses ourselves. Never disappointed.

Since 1995 the company has been providing Eating Places.

In the eighteenth century, elements of the tango were born in Spain from a dance called the contradanza. In the early 1800's, the contradanza was later introduced into Cuba where it became the habañera. The habañera made its way to Buenos Aires where the Argentine milonga dance had risen to popularity. In the Buenos Aires brothels, the milonga dance was mixed with flavors of the habañera and...

On the Menu: For a sinfully indulgent dessert, try the Diablo, a chocolate cake laced with chili powder.

What to Drink: Spanish, Portuguese and Chilean wines comprise the list, but the top-shelf tequilas are the true draw.
