A "pleasant surprise" at the Santa Ana Bowers Museum, this Patina Group Californian provides a "nice break" for patrons with "helpful" service and "fresh, tasty" offerings that "change seasonally" and are as "creative" as the "artistic flair" on the walls; the "airy", "white-tablecloth" dining room and "lovely", Mission-style courtyard comprise a "charming" "sanctuary" that belies the...

Tangata Restaurant Restaurant Review

Though Joachim Splichal's restaurants are generally dinner destinations, this outpost in the courtyard of the Bowers Museum represents a most welcome foray into daytime dining. The patio lends a Spanish vibe, with views of white stucco walls, red brick roofs and hanging purple bougainvillea. Inside, the reimagined modern space is cheerful and bright, with bursts of red emanating from the...

I've been going to Tangata for about 6 years but this is my first review. I've really never had a bad experience there, even with the recent 2.2 post-remodel menu. Tangata remains my #1 choice for lunch in Santa Ana, because I really enjoy their overall contemporary style and sensibility which is found in each dish as well as the atmosphere and decor. Thank you Patina! (Btw remember to bring ur...

Great lunch while visiting the Bowers. Love the new decor with red touches in lamps and upholstery. Always enjoy the changing menu--the new prix fixe lunch menu was a nice way to sample several courses instead of just one.

Only saw server at ordering and to collect the bill. The bread was soggy with watery mayo. Fries had a crumbled piece of wax paper under them so you only got half the little tray. I don't know how this was named best place for lunch in the OC.

Located in the beautiful Bowers Art Museum, Tangata provides a fantastic ambience, Spanish style patio and courtyard, bright flowers and a swanky sky-lit inner room with high ceilings. Once you are peacefully nestled in your seat, order from a number of delectable Californian dishes. In true Californian style, tapas and sandwiches are on the menu. These sandwiches have a punch, like the Roasted...

Located in the Mission-style courtyard of Santa Ana's acclaimed cultural arts museum, this Southwestern-themed eatery is a favorite destination with the town's well-to-do crowd, who privilege the attractive al fresco dining area and the fabulous Californian cuisine. Featured lunch entrees, many bearing a bit of a French influence, include braised lamb shank with polenta, hazelnut-encrusted...
