Ten years after visiting Arizona in 1927 to consult on designs for the Biltmore hotel, architect Frank Lloyd Wright chose 600 acres of rugged Sonoran Desert at the foothills of the McDowell Mountains as the site for his permanent winter residence. Today the site is a National Historic Landmark and still an active community of students and architects. Wright and apprentices constructed a desert...

Frank Lloyd Wright loved the Arizona desert and, in 1937, built Taliesin West as a winter camp that served as his home, office, and school. Today, the buildings of Taliesin West are the headquarters of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and School of Architecture.

A wonderful "hands on" tour of Frank Loyd Wright's Western House. What an experience being able to sit in the actual chairs that he designed and sat it. A real treat for those interested in design and architecture.

A group of us took the 1.5 hour tour last week and truly enjoyed the experience. Our tour guide provided many insights into the building of Taliesin West as well as Frank LLoyd Wrights fascinating life. The tour was well worth the price of admission.

There is so much geometry to see everywhere (I'm a math teacher) and the way the house fits the natural environment is spectacular. This is a must see in Scottsdale.

We tried to take the full tour of Taliesin (including the desert walk and chapel) and had organized our trip to visit on a day when this was available. We called several days ahead of time to reserve tickets and were originally told that the full tour only began at 9am. While on the phone, we were told that the...
