Tahiti Village Sucks

Tahiti Village charge me for a one night stay that I never even reserved. I only found out about it once my credit card got charge. I called the reservation line to let them know that they made a mistake and probably posted the reservation in my account by mistake, and probably another person try to check in that night without a reservation.

Anyways, my impression from the reservation people at Tahiti Village sucks. They were very rude from the beginning. It was for a $60 charge which I think they can afford to refund since I have paid a lot of money for buying their timeshare. C'mon - what's a $60 charge to the amount of timeshare that I bought for $30k with interest - right??? They give away more than that on free buffet meals, show tickets, etc.

Well, anyway after a few times arguing with them that I was not the one who made the reservation, I finally got to the supervisor or manager, PEDRO, who argues with me more and finally told me that he will call me back in an hour after he listens to the conversation tape to check if I was telling the truth and HUNG UP without me getting to say a word - WHATEVER. He never called me after one hour. I called back after two hours and I got another person and asked to speak with PEDRO. Karen asked me why? I had to explain the whole thing all over again, and she finally said that the charge will be credited to my account immediately per PEDRO. I was glad……..

One week later, I still do not see the credit. I called again, and again, and again, and they said the system has the notes and DAVID did the credit on my card on July 17, 2008 and might take awhile to show up on my credit card. August 17, 2008, still no credit and it has been a month. I've called more than 10 times and now getting irritated at this whole situation. I decided to wait until we go on vacation to Tahiti Village and use our one week and ask them about this in person, and still the same response. They said this time maybe my credit card company made the mistake and to contact them. I'm a very patient person and very calm on the phone and in person, so I said okay.

It is now Sept. 3, 2008, and I could careless about a $60 charge but it's the principle of it all. Anyways, I'm putting a dispute on this with my credit card company which I should have done from the very beginning. I got the form back in July 30, 2008 to file a dispute but did not continue it because the RESERVATION hotline told me that they were crediting my card for sure. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and this is what I get from being too nice…..

Anyways, I was going to say Tahiti Village is okay if you like timeshare, but now, I say there are better timeshare companies out there. Tahiti Village timeshare SUCKS. The whole situation above gave me a bad impression with them. My vacation in their place was not perfect either. For one thing, the room stank because of the odor coming out of the closet – smells like dead rats. I called maintenance service and ask about it, and they said all rooms are like that – we had a laugh at that one…. We bought Glade and plugged them in to a lot of their outlet to help with the smell. Anyways, there are other many other bad things in this place during my first visit with them which I can’t list now. I’ll do it in another post…..

BTW, I have a Wydham and Westin timeshare and it is way better than Tahiti Village. All my vacations taken with this two timeshares have been five star all the way. I totally regret buying the Tahiti Village timeshare now. So, people out there BEWARE. If you do have a timeshare with Tahiti Village, CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT OFTEN. I can't believe they can charge our credit card without our prior knowledge. Why do we have to pay yearly dues to Interval? It comes with my yearly maintenance dues on my other timeshare for free. Oh yeah, my other timeshare has more selections of places to stay. I thought Tahiti Village has at least a few in Las Vegas, a few in Hawaii, and one in Florida. But I found out that I have to be a member of Interval to use those too. I’m only limited to this one Tahiti Village in Las Vegas…..Their presentation totally mislead me.

I am so disappointed with Tahiti Village that I am planning to post this everywhere I can. It's all your fault, PEDRO, KAREN and DAVID and all those other customer service and reservation hotline people that I spoke with. I probably talk to more than 20 people there and they all have the same bad attitude. Tahiti Village, Alan Thicke or whoever from Tahiti Village read this, please train your people right. All this for a $60 charge....Are they that desperate that they can't even credit a $60 charge.

How do you expect me to upgrade if you let things happen like this? After this bad experience, you guys are never getting my business. BTW, I upgraded my Wyndham instead…..You can have my money for all I care now….it’s a small amount of what you could have gotten. My big family loves timeshares because we have reunions, and we were looking for places to have our yearly reunions. WELL, it won’t be Tahiti Village. You lost a big business.

But hey, I’m going to get my $60 back if it’s the last thing I do - whatever it takes men....

Let's start off with the good. The place is like a tropical paradise. there are palm trees everywhere and it offers a very inviting atmosphere. The service we received at check in and check out was really good.
With that, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the place to others - but... and there is definitely a but... The atmosphere of...

This was a nice family resort. It was very clean, relaxing and quiet. Great for families or older couples looking for a place to relax and enjoy the area.
If you are looking for a gambling, night life adult place, not the place for you, however, it is close to the Town Square which has some great bars and not...

Very Nice Stay

We stayed here a week through a timeshare program. It is south of the airport, away from most congestion. It's next to the big outlet mall.
Parking was easy - we could park outside our building. The interior grounds are fairly secured and very tropical AND beautiful.
The unit was comfortable and so was the bed. It was pretty quiet....

Stay in 5th tower. Washer/dryers on 9th floor. Really nice. Morea suite has separate bedroom with bathroom separating from living room/kitchen area. Nicely furnished. Staff is welcoming and very helpful. Handicap parking was a problem. Not enough spaces and had to walk far to get to tower. Denny's Restaurant on property, you can walk to. Nice views. Near airport but...

This place lived up to the great reviews I heard from others. My family (4 boys) stayed and swam while I went to a conference. Close to the strip, but far enough away. Easy to access. Beautiful property and pool areas. Hard to believe you're not in Tahiti. We stayed in the Royal Tahitian suite - HUGE. So big we...
