If you want to experience a good dining experience, this is the place to go. Was in Baton Rouge for a convention and we wanted somewhere to go eat. Someone recommended this restaurant. The owner stayed open past his closing time for us. Since we showed up right at closing we had to order off the menu which was fine....
the food is well overpriced for what you get. this visit (and my only visit) i got the red beans and rice with sausage. the bean were clearly soured. they were not eatable at all. two others in my party got the same dish and did not eat their food either. we could have been sick for days
Visited on the advice of friends. The menu offered traditional southern/soul food offerings. Food came out quickly, the French fries were definitely frozen crinkle cuts but the catfish wasn't too thin or thick. The shrimp were seasoned well and neither were heavy with batter. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and took home leftovers since the portions are large.
