My husband and I had been to this restaurant on our first date many years ago under a different name and venue, We love tapas and decided to return to give Taberna a try. We were not disappointed. We had glasses of Cabernet, Cesar salads and three different tapas; one with chorizo, whites beans and mushrooms, empanadas and cod cakes....

Food amazing service not so much

Food was fabulous. I had the octopus appetizer, my friend had or tried to have the stuffed mushrooms but they never arrived even after we asked about it. The Paella for two amazing! The waiter did offer complimentary dessert but our service plus those around us felt the same. I've heard similar complaints about the Fairfield location. It's a shame because the food really is wonderful.

We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner. While the food was great, it took a long time for us to get service at any given moment. They looked very understaffed. We were having a nice romantic dinner so their absence didn't disturb us too much. The food was great. I had the lamb shank. We would come again.

La Taberna was opened in Oct 2008 by Jaime Lopez and his brother Daniel serving Nuevo Latino Cuisine. Their sister restaurant La Paella Tapas and Wine Bar is located in Norwalk, CT. The new restaurant is nestled on Madison Ave. in Bridgeport in a two story house.
