Baltimore Gas and Electric sent us a bill, after we received our Smart Meters, for over $1000. Stating they were estimating our past usage going back to May, 2013. So they back charged onto our current bill all of the previous 'estimated' usage, despite the fact that A: we've already paid our previous bills in full and B: we actually use less energy than previously as we've upgrade our water...

First, why, with the problem you're having would you

sign a new lease?Second, many deadbeats will run up bills then apply for service under a new name to scam the companies out of their money.Not saying you did this, but the companies are familiar with the tactic and check into that possibility.If you're telling it like it is, good luck to you.  If you're trying to scam them, good luck to them.Oh, I do NOT work for BGE.

As of May 25, 2011...BGE aka Baltimore Gas and Electric cut off service at my rented home. (Due to a very high bill). After one party removed themselves from the property, they left the unpaid bill. BGE had stated that they would restore the service once the said party was located, and made attempts to pay the bill. Needless to say, said party has not been reachable.
