The Sushi Ko food philosophy is Cuisine of Subtraction. According to Creative Director Daisuke Utagawa, subtraction allows chefs to reveal the essence of each ingredient in it's most honest yet refined state. By subtly combining other ingredients, a taste sensation is created that demonstrates the complexity and beauty of nature for the eye and the palate.

Sushiko was Washington's first sushi bar when it opened 36 years ago, and it remains among the best. The sushi chefs are fun to watch -- try to sit at the sushi bar; if you do, ask chef Koji Terano to serve you his choice selections. You can expect superb sushi and sashimi standards, as well as innovations, like a soy- and sake -marinated tuna sashimi, salmon and tuna five ways, and the...

I hadn't visited for years - they moved from upper Georgetown to Chevy Chase and a larger space. There are many booths which I enjoy. It has lost a little of its personal touch but the sushi is as fresh as ever - full bar - good service.large menu..lunch and dinner - 7 days a week.

The food at Sushi Ko is very good and the 3 course lunch menu is an especially good value. The service is always friendly, with the food served promptly. A good spot if you are in the area.

However here at sushiko we believe that japaneese cuisine is not defined by hapaneese ingredients alone. if we were so narrow -minded as to consider only...
