Hide Nagano is the owner and chef of Sushi Banzai. Born and raised in Japan he trained under sushi chef's in Japan and has brought his skills to America. We had the sushi/sashimi combination dinner. The food was good & a good value. It came with miso soup & a bowl of rice. The selection is chef's choice & while everything was good, I would have preferred fresh salmon over smoked.

This is really one of the best sushi restaurants in the East Bay. Small and in an obscure location. I would never have found it if I had not been taken there by a friend. I have returned a few times. It can be hard to get in to as the restaurant is tiny but it's worth the effort.
