"You can't miss" at this "small" South End Mexican with a new Brookline Village sib, which prepares both "authentic" regional specialties and more typical standards; a full bar slinging cervezas, flavored sangrias and "strong" margaritas rounds out the "affordable" offerings, and a "friendly" staff delivers the goods.

My group of 6 had 8:30 reservations at El Centro on a Saturday night. Our table was ready when we arrived. We were surprised there were other vacant tables, but since they close at 10 PM, I guess they don't cater to the late crowd. A great Brookline Village find! Excellent margaritas, fantastic Mexican food. A cute little restaurant with nice, attentive staff. Definitely a stand-by place to come back to again and again if you live in the area. Also a great place to try if you're in Brookline looking for a good dinner. Recommended.

First of all, this place is pretty small. There were several groups of 6 people, and it felt like they took up half the restaurant. This unique restaurant serves French, Russian and Ukranian cuisine in a small but modern space with friendly service. Large windows offer diners a view of pedestrians on Washington Street. The veal chop and beef Stroganoff are highly recommended.
